MIXING IT UP IN THE BEDROOM

Has your sex life between you and your long-term partner become a little too predictable? Or are you wanting to spice things up with someone new to show them a great time in (or outside) the bedroom? Whatever the case, we’ve got plenty of exciting sex tips to help inject some extra passion into your sexual encounters — even if you’re sticking to the same go-to sex positions.

We’ve compiled some of our favourite tricks that that will help you go from good sex to great sex with just a few basic adjustments.

1. Change Location

One of the simplest changes you can make to increase excitement is doing it in a new location around the house. Even tried and true positions like missionary suddenly feel a lot more adventurous if you’re doing it on the kitchen table, for example.

And you don’t have to stop there. Other pieces of furniture can help to put your bodies in different sex positions, helping you to hit new hot spots around your body that you might otherwise miss on a mattress.

2. Use Pillows

If you rather stick to the bedroom, then try reaching over for one of your comfiest pillows to create some new angles. Not only will you have the comfiest seat in the house, but the sexiest too.

Place a pillow or two under the woman’s hips or buttocks during missionary sex to deepen penetration. You can also place a pillow underneath her chest during doggy style to give her more stability and thrusting leverage. Or, if she’s on the top, put one under the man’s hips to help him aim for the G-spot. It may not help either of you last longer in bed — but it’ll definitely help increase the pleasure!

3. Use a Prop

Sexual props come in many forms, and there are lots of items around your house that can add excitement to foreplay and sexual intercourse. Plug in a fan and aim it at the both of you during sex. The cold air hitting your hot skin will send shivering sensations up and down both your bodies.

If you’re interested in shower sex, why not grab that loofa and rub down your partner’s entire body with soap before and/or after you start getting into it? By the end of your rinse, your libido will be all warmed up in more ways than one.

4. Try New Thrusting Patterns

Sometimes you don’t even need a new sex position — just a new thrust. A simple change of pace and depth can cause new sensations and earth-shattering orgasms.

Try three long thrusts and three shallow ones, or ten teasing ones then five deep ones. Experiment with different rhythms to see which works for you and your partner.

5. Take a Look In The Mirror

Using a mirror during sex is a great way to heat things up in the bedroom. No matter what sex position you’re trying, being able to look each other — and yourself — in the eye while you get it on can be highly stimulating. And of course, you can tailor the position to give yourselves the most desirable view.

Try standing in front of the mirror and undress each other. This is also a great time to incorporate some oral sex, giving the receiving partner a unique view of the action that almost feels like watching an erotic video.

Looking at yourself naked can sometimes be a little daunting, but it can do wonders for your self-confidence! Even if you are not planning on having sex, look in the mirror and tell yourself all the things that you like about yourself, and what your partner likes, too.

6. Get Wet with Lube

Personal lubricants and massage oils are another fool-proof way to add extra excitement to the bedroom. There is no greater satisfaction during sex than when it is comfortable and genuinely enjoyable for both parties — and that all starts with proper lubrication. Even if you or your partner aren’t suffering from any kind of dryness, lube can help you explore new sensations and get into the action a lot more effortlessly.

Sounds like a job for Durex. We’ve got lots of great lubes to choose from, including 2-in-1 massage gels, flavoured + scented styles, and performance-boosting formulas designed to increase pleasure for both parties. Start experimenting with different types to find your favourite!

7. Blindfold Each Other

Being unable to see what’s coming next can add a sexy thrill for the blindfolded partner. Take it in turns so you can both experience the different sensation. You can use a real blindfold or even clothing (like a necktie) that you have lying around to blindfold each other.

If you’re both blindfolded at the same time, it can create some serious excitement as you lightly touch each other’s bodies and find your way around the bedroom. But we suggest getting comfortably situated on the mattress before going blind!

8. Play With a Cock Ring

Sex toys open up a world of sexual possibilities, and a cock ring can help keep a man’s erection stronger for longer. The Durex Pleasure Ring is a great option for anyone who wants to try one out for the first time.

9. Use Mutual Climax Condoms

The Durex Mutual Climax condoms are designed to enhance both his and her pleasure. With a ribbed finish to stimulate her during sexual intercourse and delay lubricant to help him last longer, these are some of our best condoms for couples looking to improve their connection while having safe sex.

10. Explore With A Vibrator

Using a vibrator can help bring intense pleasure to both partners — especially in positions like missionary where your hands are free to add extra stimulation. Try introducing a small bullet vibrator such as the Durex Intense Bullet to double up on the orgasmic pleasure.

Now it’s your turn to try some of these ideas out! There’s nothing wrong with performing the same sexual positions time and time again, but it certainly is fun to heat things up by adding new sex toys, lubes, or even something as simple as a pillow to help intensify your experiences.
