Condom Size Guide: Find Your Right Condom Fit

• When choosing the right condom size, it’s very important that you consider 3 things: width (determined by girth, not length), wetness (how lubricated you want it to be), and thinness. If your girth is around 50-53mm, a Durex Close Fit condom should fit as it hugs a size narrower. If your girth is around 54-56mm, a large Durex condom might be your best bet. And for girth sizes that measure from 57-60mm, an XL Durex condom is a great option. Please note that the wrong size can take away from your pleasure and is more likely to break. Consult our Find Your Fit tool for more information.

Nominal width is the diameter of the condom at or near its open base when laid flat. It is measured in millimeters. This is the most critical measurement for condom safety because it corresponds to the girth (thickness) of the penis, rather than its length.

Too Small: If the condom feels like it is uncomfortably pinching, suffocating the shaft, or it is incredibly difficult to roll down, it is too tight. A condom that is too small faces an increased risk of breakage.

Too Big: If the condom slips down during movement, bunches heavily at the base, or feels baggy, it is too large. A condom that is too loose faces a high risk of slippage.

While length is important, almost all standard Durex condoms are designed to comfortably stretch and accommodate lengths well above average. Girth (nominal width) is what actually keeps the condom securely in place, which is why our fit guide focuses heavily on width categories.

Not at all. Whether you choose our ultra-thin options like Durex Invisible or a standard thickness, every single Durex condom is 100% electronically tested for holes and imperfections. Thinness enhances sensitivity and closeness without compromising your safety.

Yes! While all Durex condoms come pre-lubricated, adding more can reduce friction and enhance pleasure. Just ensure you use a water-based or silicone-based lubricant (like Durex Play Gels). Never use oil-based lubricants (like lotion, petroleum jelly, or coconut oil) with latex condoms, as oil degrades the latex and can cause it to break. Read the condom product label carefully to ensure lubricant compatibility.

If a condom stops rolling because it has run out of length, but it still fits snugly and securely around the shaft without squeezing or pinching, it is safe to use. However, if it stops rolling because the ring is too tight to physically move down the shaft, you need a wider nominal width (such as our XL range).
